As a Principal Engineer at Amazon, I lead initiatives that power Amazon’s location-based shopping experience, where my work centers on regionalizing product discovery, optimizing search rankings for local relevance, and developing location prediction models to simplify the customer journey. My goal is to bridge technology and user needs by creating reliable, efficient systems that enhance how millions of people find and purchase products.Over my 10+ years at Amazon, I’ve progressed from Senior Software Development Engineer to Principal roles, contributing to projects that span distributed systems, algorithm optimization, and technical strategy. Prior to Amazon, I worked as a Financial Software Developer at Bloomberg, supporting financial systems, and at Harris Corporation, where I developed real-time applications in C and automated testing frameworks during a cooperative internship.My technical foundation began with a Bachelor’s in Electronics Engineering from Veermata Jijabai Technological Institute (VJTI), where I worked with primitive microcontrollers, hardware description languages and embedded systems, and built a microcontroller-based tester for Air India’s Instrumentation Landing System. This hands-on experience sparked my passion for solving complex engineering challenges. I later pursued a Master’s in Electrical and Computer Engineering at Rutgers University, where I led the development of a campus mapping website on Google App Engine and built a real-time event detection framework using social media data.Today, I’m passionate about building systems that balance technical rigor with customer impact, leveraging technologies like Java, Serverless platforms, Gen AI etc. Whether collaborating with teams to execute a technical vision or diving into the details of a complex problem, I aim to deliver solutions that are both innovative and pragmatic.Let’s connect if you’re interested in software architecture, location-based technologies, or scaling systems that make a difference!
