About Howard Nuk
Howard Nuk is a product design and innovation executive with over 25 years of experience creating noteworthy products and shaping new categories for iconic brands such as Beats by Dre, Samsung, and Square.He is currently the Chief Advanced Development & Design Officer at SharkNinja—known for high performance home, kitchen, and beauty products. In this role, Howard leads new category creation, guiding disruptive ideas through design and development to become the next generation of SharkNinja products.Howard served as Chief Designer & Vice President of Design at Luminar, leading the design for next-generation LiDAR safety and autonomy. In partnership with Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS F1 he helped create the world\'s safest Safety Car. His OEM design partners included Volvo, Polestar, Mercedes-Benz, and Nissan.Embracing his passion for luxury furniture and interior design, Howard joined RH (Restoration Hardware) as Senior Vice President of Design & Innovation in 2022. He helped elevate their luxury brand experience by spearheading novel initiatives within RH furniture collections, gallery design, and The World of RH digital experience.In his entrepreneurial chapter, Howard co-founded Palm by reimagining the legendary Palm brand and defining a new minimalist mobile experience. In partnership with NBA champion Stephen Curry as an investor and advisor, and Verizon, his team launched the world’s first companion mini-smartphone—a beacon for digital minimalism, in 2018.In 2013, Howard helped establish Samsung Design America, a US-based Design & Innovation Center focused on breakthrough new category creation. As Vice President of Design he led teams designing the flagship Galaxy phone lineup, smart TVs, and appliances. He helped pioneer new categories with over a dozen wearables including Galaxy Buds, Gear Fit, and Gear S2.Earlier in his career he served as Vice President of Industrial Design at Ammunition, helping develop Beats by Dre headphones and working closely with Jack Dorsey on the entire Square product ecosystem. He also spent 11 years at frog design as a Creative Director, creating revolutionary products for companies including Disney, Starbucks, and Intel.A member of the Forbes Technology Council, Howard has judged global design awards and spoken at leading design and tech forums. His work has been featured in countless publications including Fast Company, Time, Forbes, Wired, WSJ, and Variety. He’s been named one of Fast Company’s Most Creative People and holds 100+ patents along with dozens of design awards including iF, Red Dot, and IDSA.
