I serve on the faculty of the ANA’s Marketing Training & Development Center, leading workshops on evaluating and writing creative briefs, briefing creative teams, and reviewing creative work.My approach blends clarity, logic, and inspiration — the principles I outlined in my textbook How to Write an Inspired Creative Brief (3rd edition), which continues to influence marketing teams worldwide.Through this role, I’ve trained client-side marketers from some of the world’s most recognizable brands. My workshops emphasize not just process, but purpose: using the creative brief to spark better thinking, sharper strategy, and more impactful creative outcomes.

ABOUT HOWARD IBACH
I’m a writer and longtime creative professional whose career has followed two intertwined paths: advertising strategy and personal storytelling. For more than two decades, I have taught marketers and agencies how to write powerful creative briefs. My book How to Write an Inspired Creative Brief has become a global reference for strategy teams. I also co-host The Brief Bros. podcast and curate the Creative Brief Archive, the largest collection of sample briefs available free to students, educators, and strategists worldwide.Today, my deepest focus is on literary work — memoirs and essays — that excavate the past, explore identity, and honor memory. My published memoir Already Home recounts my adoption journey; Tormented (in progress) unearths the pain of obsessive love; and I publish a Sunday essay on Substack. My aim is simple: to tell the truth with heart, craft, and purpose so the best parts of my life outlive me.Not retired. Remembering out loud.
