ABOUT HOWARD PERKINS
Hello LinkedIn Community! I am Howard C. Perkins a Baltimore City Public Schools graduate. Growing up, I was blessed to have a family that instilled the importance of expanding your horizons and getting a good education. I was the only child of a vast family. With the support of my late mother, I earned my Bachelor of Science Degree in Global Communications from The National Treasure Morgan State University. Later after deciding that education was my calling, I obtained my Master’s degree in special education from the University of Maryland’s Coppin State University with a GPA of 3.8. I was also inducted into the Kappa Delta Phi National Honor Society. 2009 was the year I decided that being an educator was my calling. I have had to honor of teaching in public and non-public schools in Maryland and Washington, D.C. I honed my classroom skills in Baltimore and developed my leadership skills once given the opportunity with DCPS. I am currently pursuing my Ph.D. in Education Leadership at North Central University. I love to help students with learning disabilities thrive academically and socially, which gives me joy. I also enjoy helping teachers and growing those around me while I am still growing myself. Two of my most fulfilling experiences have been becoming a children’s author and starting a family-owned publishing company, where I publish books with my children. The first in that series is Super Duper Darien, co-authored by my oldest son Darien, who is a proud member of Iota Phi Theta Fraternity, Incorporated.Thank You,
