ABOUT HOWARD ROSE

Balsall Common Primary School Academy is a large primary school, judged as Outstanding by OfSted in February 2014. Since winning the Business in Education Partnership award in November 2015, I have gone from strength to strength culminating in funding in 2020 of nearly for the Trust. As the Director of Funding and Publicity I secure funding through grants, sponsorship and support from businesses, both local and National. Together we enhance children’s learning and provide better outcomes for pupils within the framework of an academy. I was honoured to be recognised for the work I do with local businesses and was awarded Solihull Chamber of Commerce Business Person of the Year 2016 in November and went on to win the Solihull Observer & Marriott Hotel Business Person in August 2016, as part of the Super Six, I then went on to win Business Person of the Year in 2017. My proudest moment has been being recognised in the 2018 Queens Birthday Honours where I was awarded a British Empire Medal (BEM) for Services to Education. By working with local businesses and getting them \'hands on\' we can cement the pupils learning experience in a practical, informative and fun way by running \'Real Life Learning Events\'. These events have proven very popular on both sides and we now have many regular events. I produce regular press releases, articles in local magazines, e-news, the school website as well as write for a National school’s magazine, FundEd. This gives me a chance to thank sponsors and shout about the good work they do with us. It is a very effective way to advertise their services and show Corporate & Social Responsibility in action.
