Occasional consultations will continue for those that understand the value.A Solutionist brings many things to the table. If someone knows how they want to solve their issue, I’m of little assistance. If someone works in an organization’s where the definition of a consultant is “Someone that wears a suit, travels more than 50 miles, has a shiny brief case and tells the boss what we have already told him”, I’m not your guy. As a Solutionist, I listen to all sides of the issue, inquire about items that may not have been discussed, offer suggestions, and try to reach consensus. My role is to move the process along. I was not there when the process started, when there were issues and will not be there to the end. You own your success.I assisted in the founding of the DERA Institute for Preparedness and Resilience. I later accepted the position of Solutionist for the Institute and continue as the Board Chair the Disaster Preparedness and Emergency Response Association [DERA] a 501(c )3.I joined the Board of Directors of BLOCKSUSA.[Building Links between Offices of emergency management, Childcare, and the community for Kids Safety], I have accepted the Chairperson of the Board position. I am a key member of the BYRD Collation [Building Youth Resiliency to Disaster.I will be devoting most of my time to these not-for-profits. All my work has been because of my passion. It’s not a job if you really enjoy it.“What’s money?
