Howard D. Maycon is an accomplished civil litigator with extensive experience and specialization in areas such as wildfires, catastrophic property damage, energy and utility losses, product liability, construction defects, fine art & specie, and commercial disputes. With a proven track record in handling high-profile subrogation and recovery cases, Howard represents clients against public and private utilities, major manufacturers, national contractors, and government entities in mass tort matters, including high profile incidents like the California wildfires and the San Bruno Pipeline Explosion.Widely respected for his expertise in wildfire litigation, Howard has been appointed by his peers as co-lead litigation counsel for the subrogation industry in every major California wildfire since 2017. Most recently, Howard was appointed as co-liaison counsel to lead the litigation of the 2025 Eaton Wildfire. His leadership spans a number of significant cases, including the 2017 North Bay, Thomas, Creek, and Rye Fires; the 2018 Woolsey Fire; the 2019 Kincade and Getty Fires; the 2020 Zogg and Mountain View Fires; the 2021 Dixie Fire; and the 2022 Coastal Fire. Currently, he serves as co-lead litigation counsel for the 2019 Saddle Ridge Fire. Howard’s legal practice extends beyond the U.S, with significant experience handling cases internationally, including in Asia. He has also successfully represented clients in arbitration proceedings before the International Chamber of Commerce in London.Howard is a trusted advisor to his clients.
