About Yue Hou

I\'m a bioinformatics analyst at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute since Oct. I\'m also pursuing the online masters of analytics at Georgia Tech since Jan. My current project is about analyzing endogenous retrovirus (ERV) for kidney cancer, designing and executing analysis pipelines using docker and firecloud. I\'ve been a postdoctoral fellow at Biomedical Informatics Department of Emory University from Nov. 2014 to Jun. I developed image processing algorithms for tumor spheroid growth, classification of spatial-temporal cell membrane dynamics and colocalization patterns of lung cancer cells. My projects involved analyzing genomic and clinical data related to lung adenocarcinoma and metastasis. I have excellent experiences in computational biology, such as image processing, genomic/pathway analysis, clinical data analysis. I use Matlab, ImageJ, CellProfiler, Imaris for image analysis and Python, Matlab, R, JMP for genomic and statistical analysis. I\'m also an experimental cell biologist with excellent skills in neutrophil isolation and transmigration, scanning electron microscope (SEM), cell culture, TIRF microscopy, timelapse live cell microscopy, fluorescent microscopy, transfection, flow cytometry, ELISA.My other skills are in biochemistry fields, including hydrogel preparation, microcontact printing, layer-by-layer self-assembly, surface fabrication and characterization, quartz crystal microbalance (QCM), Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy in attenuated total reflection mode (ATR) and contact angle meter technique.I\'m also excellent in team working, mentoring, literature searching, analyzing large amount of data, handling multiple tasks and time management.
