Researches, analyzes, updates and implements policies, procedures for the Ohio Refugee Social Services Program based on federal policy and legislation.Provides consultative expertise and training to state and county employees, Ohio Department of Job and Family Services (ODJFS) offices, legal service agencies, community agencies and/or the general public on Refugee Services Program issues (e.g, interprets state and federal policies and procedures, laws, rules and regulations; trains agencies involved in administering Refugee Services.Explains new and/or revised program policies and/or procedures); works with Office of Information Services (OIS) and Department of Administrative Services (DAS) to develop Refugee Services Program business requirements; coordinates program policy clearances, administrative code rule filings and publications of new/revised program policies or procedures with the Office of Legal and Acquisitions Researches publications from state and/or federal agencies for changes that affect programs; works with advocacy groups on the implementation of policy; conducts programmatic and fiscal reviews; compiles reports, position papers and research documents; participates in the development of State Plan (e.g, collects comments; drafts; revises); submits State Plan to the Federal Office of Refugee Resettlement [ORR]Provides comments on ODJFS clearances, legal briefs and OIS/DAS documents; provides information to other organizations and states regarding Ohio programs and eligibility requirements; reviews curriculum, guides and desk aids created by trainers and refugee resettlement providers to ensure accuracy of program policy; notifies County Departments of Job and Family Services (CDJFS) and local refugee resettlement agencies of federal grants for refugees.
