ABOUT HOUDA SAHYOUN

I have a passion for leveraging the interconnection between energy markets and finance within the dynamic Macro-environment. That journey started for me through a leadership rotation at Nextera Energy where I had a unique exposure to power markets, business management of wind farms, and most recently trading energy derivatives and originating fuels and gas hedges for utilities, industrials and commercials across the US. Prior to that, I earned a Masters Degree in International Energy Management and Policy from the School of International and Public Affairs (SIPA) at Columbia University in the City of New York. My interests are diverse and revolve around energy market fundamentals, energy project finance, and energy commodities trading and risk management. I have a Bachelor’s in computer science and an MBA in Management and Marketing. I worked in consulting on an enterprise resource system for a petroleum client; and in business development for a port operator. I have also spent a good deal of time researching Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and Sustainability. I was awarded internships at the Chamber of Commerce of Milan, the Electricité Du Liban, and in Corporate Communications & Sustainability at Pirelli Tires, NAFTA in NYC. I also volunteered at different local and global events aimed at promoting entrepreneurship. I am enthusiastic about furthering my knowledge and contribution in the energy space. I am fluent in English, Arabic and French.
