ABOUT MARK KOWALSKI
Having spent most of my career working on the design and development of a number of complex luxury hospitality and high end residential projects around the world I have a thorough understanding of the design, development and operation of a 5 star luxury product. This includes the business case aspects, planning & regulation issues, environmental initiatives, the value of branding and the guest experience. The project types have varied from boutique, themed, royal residences and palaces, mixed use, classic, golf, contemporary, casino, marina, resort and urban. The scales have varied from 60 key boutique hotels to key 6 star luxury mixed use mega resorts with a range of residence types such as fractional, freehold and branded serviced apartments. The project values have ranged from GBP £65 million to GBP £4 billion. In a client facing role I have worked with various high net worth, VIP and royal clients and managed and coordinated design teams and a wide range of hotel operators, engineers and specialist consultants. I have good knowledge of the process and how to manage people to achieve a high quality result and deliver the project. I have also been involved in the Hotel of Tomorrow (HOT) and Radical Innovation hotel design competitions as well as various think tank initiatives. I regularly attend industry conferences such as SLEEP & have presented at Hi-AIM.Aside from working in London I have also spent significant time in other offices around the world such as Hong Kong, California, Dubai, New York and Sydney and the projects have been located in the Caribbean, Australia, Europe, Asia, Russia, North Africa, US and the Middle East. This together with my work has given me a true appreciation for the importance of cultural authenticity as well as knowledge of current market trends in hospitality, global luxury standards and most importantly good design.Special interest; casino, specialist mixed use / all season resorts, market trends, future vision
