I perform civil engineering tasks related to roadway design, including developing horizontal and vertical alignments, designing ADA-compliant curb ramps, and calculating super elevation rates and earthwork quantities using Civil 3D and OpenRoads. I analyze existing site conditions to identify geometric or drainage issues and recommend appropriate design solutions, such as improved cross slopes, culvert sizing, and stormwater flow direction. I prepare engineering documentation including plan and profile sheets, pavement replacement layouts, typical sections, and quantities estimates for use in construction plan sets.I contribute to the preparation and QA/QC review of construction drawings, striping and signing plans, and maintenance of traffic (MOT) strategies to ensure compliance with applicable design standards and safety regulations. I also assist in reviewing vertical clearance requirements, evaluating bridge approaches, and assessing lighting needs for roadway interchanges. All engineering tasks are performed under the supervision of a licensed Professional Engineer, with a focus on applying sound engineering principles to ensure constructability and public safety.Approximately 95% of my duties are engineering-related, with the remaining 5% involving non-engineering tasks such as internal coordination and occasional business development communication.
