Driven, as well, through growth and development of the founding company, ASR Systems (Asphalt Shingle Recycling) and parent companies formed with several investors. BackgroundDan has extensive experience in building materials, including 12 years at IKO Industries, a North American roofing manufacturer. In 2009, with a vision to create a roofing industry circular economy, Dan established Asphalt Shingle Recycling (ASR) Systems. He developed technologically advanced processing methods, recovering raw materials in a form that is more easily integrated into asphalt roof manufacturing and asphalt paving mix designs. The US Patent and Trade Office awarded his work by allowing three patents. His novel approach separates asphalt roofing shingles\' six raw materials into two beneficial raw material streams. This zero-waste solution revolutionized the industry, making recycling less expensive and more mainstream. Dan\'s approach to recycling led him to be awarded a fourth patent, which disclosed a novel approach to roofing distribution and retailer delivery and recycling bins. Necessity inspired a fifth international patent (pending), which details a low-cost separation, asphalt extraction and distillation method.Over his 30 years of experience in the roofing industry, he has held a variety of leadership positions. Currently he leads an engineering and management team at ASR with responsibilities across Recycling Facility Engineering and Design, Business Management, Project Management, Construction Management, Manufacturing, Procurement and Sales.

   Dan joined the recycling industry in 2009, establishing ASR Systems, based in Barrington, RI. In 2010, he raised capital, building a team of industry leaders with a shared objective of impacting the roofing industry through sustainability initiatives. He subsequently wrote patents innovating a unique approach to asphalt shingle recycling. In 2015, this was expanded to include roofing distributor and retailer strategies. In 2017, Dan’s role expanded to include Patent Licensing, Facility Design, Recycling Consultant, Waste Material Sourcing, Engineering, Procurement and Construction Management Services. Since then, he\'s become an increasingly sought after expert and consultant to the industry - working with numerous organizations and industry groups to improve recycling processes. He\'s a frequent speaker at recycling events and conferences. Earlier In 2020, he improved patents and recycling technology, through efficient extraction, integration of raw materials into new products and design/engineering of zero waste roofing manufacturing facilities. He continues to partner with recyclers, distributors, and manufacturers to drive transformation in the industry across North America.
