European Associate Physical Movement DirectorDisney Theatrical – Frozen (Amsterdam, London & Hamburg) and Beauty and the Beast (UK & International Tours)As the European Associate Physical Movement Director, I play a key creative role in the staging and maintenance of Disney’s large-scale international musical productions. This position is closely aligned with that of an Associate Movement Director but with additional responsibilities requiring specialized expertise.My work involves ensuring the consistency and integrity of the physical storytelling across multiple international companies. I collaborate closely with the creative team to preserve the original direction and choreography while adapting it for new casts and cultural contexts. This role specifically demands proficiency in areas beyond traditional movement direction, including: • Puppetry Direction: Guiding performers in the operation and characterisation of intricate puppets central to the storytelling in Frozen. • Stage Combat & Stunts: Choreographing and maintaining safe, dynamic fight sequences and physical action, in line with both the artistic vision and industry safety standards. • Physical Storytelling: Supporting actors and ensemble members in embodying their characters through movement, ensuring clarity, emotion, and ensemble cohesion.I have contributed to the successful international rollouts and ongoing performances of Frozen in Amsterdam, London, Hamburg and Stuttgart, following a previous tenure on Beauty and the Beast, where I helped reshape and reimagine the physical staging for international audiences.
