About Horatio Blackman
Every day in America, systemic challenges prevent individuals from receiving the support they need to live healthy, safe, and fulfilling lives—ultimately limiting their ability to contribute positively to society. As an experienced researcher, policy analyst, and organizational leader, I am dedicated to addressing these problems by conducting high-quality research, highlighting critical issues and promising solutions, and translating evidence into effective policy and practice. My efforts span federal, state, and local policies and initiatives, where I support the advancement of equitable systems that nurture the potential of all people.I have successfully led research teams as evidenced by my scholarly work and by nominations to serve on impactful committees, including the National Academy of Sciences, Engineering and Mathematics\'(NASEM) ad hoc committee on Promoting Learning and Development In K-12 Out of School Time Settings for Low Income and Marginalized Children and Youth. I have collaborated with partners to develop impactful policies, conduct research, publish reports and briefs, and educate field leaders, policymakers, and the public on pressing issues and promising solutions. As an experienced public speaker, I enjoy engaging with audiences to discuss the challenges our country faces and how we can work together for lasting, positive change.
