ABOUT HORACE FRANCIS

Inspire Succeed CIC runs sports, arts and craft sessions for young people across Nottingham to create a safe and inclusive environment where they can spend their time when they’re not at school. Considering the issues affecting and impacting on social exclusion, crime and disengagement. We encourage young people to be able to remain active, be able to engage and participate in what is happening around them, access educational spaces and opportunities, where they are able to meet other young people from different backgrounds, which is safe and helps them to grow. We work hard to ensure that young people from BMER communities and those from disadvantaged background feel supported and have access to mentoring, opportunities and training that will ensure they are able to access opportunities and look forward to a brighter future. I am the lead youth and community coordinator at Mojatu and Fearless Youth Association (FYA) responsible for recruitment and training of young people and their families on skills, behaviour and personal development. I support young people with understanding, prevention and tackling knife crime, drugs and substance misuse and youth and gang involvement and violence. My training and engagement competence has enabled Mojatu and FYA to become hugely impactful in reaching and addressing the needs of younger people especially those from African and New and Emerging communities. I am currently working with over 24 young people for 2 days a week and manage 2 assistants and 3 volunteers in meeting the needs and obligations of the youth training project. I have 20 years youth engagement and social care experience. Working for Nottingham City Council and County Council, initially as a Sport Coach followed by working in a Community Homes as a Residential Social Worker. From there I obtained Assistant Managers position. During that time I have gained experience, knowledge, skills and awareness. I have worked within the community in various in management roles as Committee Member and in my spend time a Football Coached/Manager various clubs Youth/Mens adults for over 15years I am currently Talent Scout with Chesterfield Football Club ( Youth) I take great responsibility for my personal development from being reflective and self evaluating as well as addressing my own development needs. I am open to new and different experiences/opportunities which has aid my learning development and awareness.I am confident that my vast experience are transferable to all position that have developed me in my future objectives.
