ABOUT DENISE HOPKINS

RN with a diverse clinical and leadership background, with a passion for Patient Advocacy, Customer Service and Servant Leadership. I have been very blessed in my career to have had mentors that fostered my professional growth, and supported me in my endeavors. I started my career as a Critical Care Nurse at St Joseph Hospital in Memphis, Tn. I spent 10 years in that capacity, the last few as the Director of the 18 bed unit. I branched out into a start-up Cardiac Cath Lab and spent a total of 7 years, and learned the true value of Teamwork and comradorie with fellow co-workers. I eventually ventured into the Home Health and Case Management settings. I enjoyed the sense of autonomy and being able to make a difference in someone\'s life and health during their most vulnerable time. It has always been important to me that I support my fellow nurses in the Art of Nursing and give back what has so generously been given to me throughout my career. I currently serve as an Administrator for 3 Home Health Agencies in West Tennessee. I have also served in the role of a Home Health Regional Director for the Mid South Region and Northeast Regions, which included the States of Tennessee, South Carolina, Mississippi, Virginia, Pennsylvania, North Carolina and Ohio. My Home Health experience includes Agency start-up, oversight of Branch Administrators/Directors, Personnel Management, Joint Commission and ACHC Accreditation, Quality Improvement, management of KPI, and Home Health Compliance. I have a extensive background in Case Management in multiple settings, including Acute Care, Critical Access, Rehab, Skilled and LTAC. I am proficient with Kinnser and McKesson, and have experience with Cerner, Epic and Allscripts, along with proficiency with Interqual and Milliman criteria. I am proficient in ways to impact Patient Outcomes and Star Ratings of an Agency. I am process, compliance and quality driven, and believe that focus of and advocacy for patient care is the primary goal in any Healthcare setting.
