Hello, I’m Hope White — a Senior Psychology major at Spelman College with a passion for working directly with children and teens to support their mental health, personal growth, and overall well-being.I’m driven by a commitment to making sure young people — especially Black youth — feel seen, heard, and supported. Whether through mentorship, counseling, or leadership development, I’m interested in applied work that helps young people thrive. I plan to pursue both a master’s and PhD in psychology to deepen my impact and become a licensed Child & Adolescent Psychologist.I bring intention and leadership into everything I do — from serving as a Resident Assistant and Chapel Assistant, to leading community service and special events as part of the National Society of Leadership and Success. I also stay involved through volunteering with youth programs and food justice organizations that reflect my values of service and community.I’m always open to connecting with people who care about youth development, mental health, or education.    As a Resident Advisor (RA) at Spelman College, I serve as a peer leader, mentor, and advocate for a diverse population of undergraduate students. I support student well-being through community-building, conflict mediation, and mental health awareness—responsibilities that closely align with my goal of becoming a child and adolescent psychologist-Develop and implement intentional programming that supports social, emotional, and academic success-Foster inclusive, safe, and welcoming residential environments for students from diverse backgrounds-Manage crisis situations and mediate peer conflicts with empathy, discretion, and problem-solving skills-Build strong interpersonal connections and act as a first point of contact for residents in distress-Collaborate with professional staff to uphold university policies and connect students with campus resources-Lead community service initiatives and special events to promote belonging and engagementThis role has deepened my interest in emotional wellness, identity development, and peer support models—all of which inform my vision as a future child and adolescent psychologist.
