SKILLS
ABOUT ADRIAN HONIG
When I was 14 years old I did my first school-internship in a papermill. This experience led me to develop a strong interest in paper production and paper products. I finished school, and returned to the same mill to complete my apprenticeship. After the permanent closure of the mill, I changed my area of focus from SC-paper to tissue. I worked for over three years as a papermaker at the headquarters of WEPA in Mueschede, Germany, before returning to school to pursue further education. There I spent two years learning converting and printing, before deciding to stay within paper production, and I then started my bachelor`s degree of paper production at the Munich University of Applied Science. I spent my last semester abroad in an exchange program with the State University of New York in Syracuse, and there I completed my bachelor thesis on the topic of ozone bleaching. After finishing my bachelor`s degree, I pursued graduate education and completed the international paper master class. In 2018 I finished my master thesis at Voith Ravensburg, and obtained my master of engineering degree. At Voith, I began employment as a trainee in commissioning, and after one year I was given the opportunity to take over global responsibilities for refiner and deflaker equipment. I am passionate about developing new ideas, connecting with people, and training students to achieve their career goals in our wonderful industry. To this day, I feel at home on-site. I started my career nearly 20 years ago, and the feeling of excitement has never left me. I am excited to connect with new people and I am always open to discussing new ideas, approaches, or having a good talk.
