   Currently, the two-term elected Comptroller (CFO) of the largest suburban county, Nassau County, NY. Managing a budget of $3.0 Billion, with direct responsibilities for accounting, accounting policy, A/R, A/P, payroll, employee benefits and pensions, debt management, internal controls, audits, financial planning and ensuring that all financial operating, legal and regulatory requirements are met. First elected in 2009 and re-elected for a second four-year term in November 2013. Credited with reducing government spending by over 30% through process improvements, advising policy makers of revenue projections to temper spending, refinancing debt, and aggressive audits. While simultaneously, strongly advocating for investment in essential services, infrastructure, public transportation, affordable housing, water quality and social services. Nationally recognized for excellence in financial reporting and credited for reducing the long-term County debt by over $100 million, unprecedented in government.
