As the Chief Executive Officer of GirlTalk University, I lead a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering girls and women by promoting positive self-image and confidence through intimate, transformative conversations. GirlTalk University has made a profound impact, reaching students in several elementary, middle, and high schools across Houston, Texas, and expanding our mission nationwide through impactful pop-up events in cities like Atlanta, New Orleans, and Washington, D.C. At Worthing High School, our flagship program, 143 girls—representing 51% of the female student population—participated in GirlTalk University initiatives. Every participant reported positive outcomes, with measurable improvements in confidence, academic engagement, and personal growth. Our efforts extend beyond schools, engaging adult women and college students through workshops focused on self-esteem and empowerment. With successful grant funding, we’ve sustained and grown our mission, demonstrating that building confidence and fostering a positive self-image can directly contribute to academic achievement and lifelong success. Under my leadership, GirlTalk University continues to inspire, uplift, and transform the lives of girls and women, one conversation at a time.
