Jennifer’s mission is to empower and engage others in place making and civic leadership, as she has demonstrated through her activism and involvement in local politics, and her donation of countless hours to her community, her support of and empathy for others, and creation of a scholarship fund to support future young leaders. She is a collaborative strategist and leader with extensive experience in urban planning, land use and environmental policy, and advancing projects for governmental, private, and nonprofit sectors. Her 40-year planning experience and practice incorporates climate adaptation planning, environmental, open space and farmland protection, economic development planning, comprehensive land use and transportation plans, and historic preservation planning. A versatile and results-driven professional with a record of environmental sustainability and climate adaptation successes, Jennifer is skilled in navigating regulatory frameworks while delivering innovative solutions that align with organizational and community goals. An experienced advisor and leader, adept at building stakeholder consensus, she has written and managed complex plans and programs, and ensuring compliance with statutory and policy requirements. As the Principal of A NYS Certified Woman-Owned Business Enterprise, she leads a development consulting practice that specializes in sustainable development in environmental and urban planning, historic preservation, and development advising. With 14 years of experience in this role, and over 20 as a development professional, she has successfully delivered projects that enhance the economic, social, and environmental well-being of urban communities and regions in the Hudson Valley and beyond. Her expertise and passion lie in creating and implementing strategies that revitalize, adaptively reuse, and repurpose exceptional buildings, sites, and communities, while respecting their cultural and natural heritage. She has worked with a diverse range of clients, including government agencies, real estate developers, non-profits, and private corporations, to provide creative solutions for unique challenges and opportunities. Jennifer also applies her global experience and knowledge of development policies and practices, including the nature-based solutions for disaster and climate resilience and her work in urban and regional conservation acquired through postgraduate studies and international assignments for the World Bank and United Nations.
