About Holly Tomlin

I am a Translational Scientist and advocate for Precision Medicine Analytics using neural networks and deep learning technique. My research interest includes reducing health disparities by developing unbiased clinical decision support (CDS) tools and data-driven modeling and simulation packages to either repurpose existing drugs or develop novel, integrative therapies. This will prevent and/or accurately treat hypertension-mediated cardiometabolic vascular dementia. Specifically, analyzing non-traditional risk factors, such as salt-sensitive hypertension, genomic, and environmental social-determinants in Black Americans, using electronic health records (EHRs) combined with other “Big Data” sources to create CDS support apps that trigger telehealth services to attenuate emergency department visits. This algorithm will be the first step to developing risk-based prediction, prevention, and treatment models for hypertension, cardiometabolic syndrome, and vascular dementia. Currently, I collaborate with the Consumer Health Informatics Lab (CHIL) at Yale School of Medicine as a Clinical Research Affiliate to support their overall mission. Also, I am mentored by Dr James A. Washington, Cardiologist at the Morehouse School of Medicine, and Director of the Southeast Region of NIH AIM-AHEAD Research Consortium. In addition, I am a JM/MLS student at Emory Law School where my focus is on Health Law and Digital Technology Law, including AI/ML.

Experience

  1. Research Fellow
