Per my intro at the top a life changing event turned my life upside down, and I quit the rat race for a more wholesome fulfilling life. But I’ve always wanted to help make good things happen. So while I worked in the corporate world, I neutralised my karma by supporting charities and social enterprises, unable to fund professional marketing experts to promote their amazing work. I co-founded Good for Nothing Chester back in 2014 and I co-lead the group with the wonderful Uná Meehan. We use our collaborative, creative skills to accelerate local projects, and the work of change makers and awesome people in Chester The number of GFN Chester volunteers has grown organically from 0 to >400 in the ten years we\'ve been alive. We curate and deliver productive hacks and engaging socials. We love being part of the #makechester movement and making a positive difference. Since I graduated I\'ve provided marketing expertise pro bono to charities and community groups. I believe in giving back to the communities in which I work and live, communities that need all the support we can give them! Organisations and charities I\'ve helped develop include:Registered charities: Cheshire NSPCC (Cheshire Woman of the Year Award and honorary member of NSPCC steering group), Help for Heroes Cheshire, RSPCA Cheshire, Port Sunlight Village Trust, Breckfield and North Everton Neighbourhood Council, and Loch Lomond Rescue Boat.Other organisations: The Natural Vegmen, LOK Fairtrade Industries, Sylvia Cheater MBE (health and wellbeing), Sunlight Garden Design, Learn To Play Live, and Neuro Linguistic Programming support.I chat about marketing and the Good for Nothing movement at all sorts of events, conferences and hacks.
