ABOUT HOLLY CRAWFORD THOMPSON

As a former farm kid, I have a special place in my heart for agriculture. As a human, I know that we have a lot of work to do to address climate change and economic inequality. Sustainable agriculture is a path that has strong potential to mitigate the worst effects of climate change while providing nutritious food and a fair income for small farmers.In my undergraduate career, I studied International Business and Entrepreneurship to create a degree in which I can focus on global social entrepreneurship and economic development. I have pursued international education on this topic in diverse, global contexts through study abroad in Arusha, Tanzania, and Quito, Ecuador, as well as during my time as a Fulbright Binational Business Grantee in Mexico City, Mexico.In my professional life, I first spent time as a management consultant at Bain & Company to round out my business education. Here, I focused on sustainability topics whenever possible, including energy and electrification, plant-based meat, and sustainable ingredient sourcing. However, I always knew my next step would be to focus on agriculture full-time. After three years at Bain, I joined the team at Indigo Ag in order to make a difference for people and planet by scaling agricultural carbon credits.As a Partner Business Manager, I directly support our efforts to scale by working with partner businesses across the ag industry, in diverse verticals including ag retail, crop insurance, and ag tech. I work with partners to develop go-to-market strategies and long-term business plans that are mutually beneficial to the partner, to their growers, and to Indigo. I am based in Madison, Wisconsin.
