ABOUT HOLLY BROWN
Growing up in a town with some of the highest levels of poverty in the UK, I have seen first-hand how both economics and politics are vital for improving lives. My background has provided me with a passion for learning, problem-solving and making a difference. I want to solve long-term national and global issues and I think my consistently top grades, Unibuddy volunteering experience and love of international affairs will help me to do this. I have recently become Head Events Coordinator for the Adam Smith Economics Society. This has given me invaluable leadership, organisational and oratory experiences, and has allowed me to expand my connections within the field of economics and IR. My exposure to the University’s dynamic international community has helped fuel my love of people and culture and has encouraged me to learn German and Italian. Looking to the future, I am eager to learn specialised knowledge, explore my interests further through internships and enter a career in international relations that can really make a difference.
