Summer 1: Built the foundations for a longitudinal research project and outreach programme, aimed at levelling educational disparities in schools in Oxfordshire. Examined policy surrounding extra-curriculars, and identified factors leading to a disparity in opportunities available to students from different schools and areas. Ran extra-curricular activities in disadvantaged schools in Oxfordshire, to provide opportunities to the children and build relationships between the University and the local community.Summer 2: Undertook a Leadership in Action programme in Mexico, developing a social media campaign for an NGO supporting survivors of gender-based violence. Created videos, infographics and a feminist puppet to feature on their social media pages. Learnt skills in leadership, project management, and design thinking.
