ABOUT HOLLY HESSNER

I aim to pursue a career in government as an elected official and give back to my community through effective policy making. I’m passionate about creating legislation to improve the education system and mental health. I’m a highly motivated person, who loves new challenges and learning about almost anything. In my free time, I enjoy seeing friends, painting, and working as a Bartender. At Boston University, I am majoring Political Science. I have competed on the national level with Boston University’s Moot Court Organization, am a member of Phi Alpha Delta, and intend to study criminal law post-graduation. Additionally, I’m a proud sister of aKDPhi. In less than one year, I completed three Congressional internships in district offices and on the Hill. On the campaign side, I worked on campaign in Massachusetts for one year and with the New York State Democratic Committee in 2024. Despite being a Democrat, I am a major proponent for bipartisan politics. In 2023, I worked at the Suffolk County Legislature with to GOP Legislator Dominick Thorne. This summer, I served as Deputy Campaign Manager and Internship Program Director for Steve Englebright for County Legislator. At the same time, I also interned with the Financial Crimes Bureau at the Suffolk County (NY) District Attorney\'s Office, under DA Ray Tierney.After securing a victory for Legislator Englebright of 62.6% of the vote, I am planning to keep doing campaign work. Currently, I am serving as President of Left on Long Island, a 501(C)4 non-profit organization that I co-founded in November 2025.
