ABOUT HOLLY BROWN

I am currently pursuing a PhD in the Department of Sport & Exercise Sciences at Durham University. My PhD research focuses on supporting both parental and host family food provision to ensure elite academy footballers are meeting their energy demands, whilst giving additional thought to how elite football clubs both advertise and select host families to support young academy footballers.Whilst pursuing my PhD within the department, I have taught across the undergraduate and postgraduate (taught) programmes, whilst also marking across several modules, and representing the department at open days and events such as Celebrate Science and Schools\' Science Festival. I have taught on the modules (L2) Nutrition for Sport & Health,(L1) Introduction to Physical Activity, Diet, & Health,(L1) Introduction to Sport & Exercise Industries,(L1) Critical Skills,(L3) Futures in Sport, Exercise, & Health, and (PGT) Sport, Exercise, & Health: Future Perspectives. Delivery across these modules has involved seminar, lecture, and lab practical delivery. Additionally, I have mentored students on their L3 placement module as they deliver to the Junior Academy at Newcastle Red Bulls (formerly Falcons) alongside Dr. Lindsay Macnaughton for the last couple of years.I am currently a graduate registrant of the Sport & Exercise Nutrition Register (SENr). Whilst conducting my research, I have previously supported Newcastle United Women and the Doncaster Rover’s Academy. I continue to support the Junior and Senior Academy at Newcastle Red Bulls (formerly Falcons). I have previously graduated from Northumbria University with an MSc in Nutritional Science with Distinction and have a first undergraduate degree in BSc (Hons) Sport and Exercise Nutrition.
