ABOUT HOLLY ASTON

As an ambitious and motivated Interior Design and Decoration graduate, I am seeking to launch a career in the design industry. Equipped with a solid academic foundation and practical experiences, I am poised to contribute effectively within a professional setting. Over the course of my studies, I graduated with a First-Class Honours, won an award for ‘Best Technical Work’ across all three interiors courses, and was nominated by the University to participate in the British Institute of Interior Design ‘Student Design Challenge 2023’. Undertaking each experience with a proactive approach to skill acquisition, I believe I showcase a dedication and commitment to academic pursuits. During my final year, I was selected as student representative to liaise between the faculty and students. I cultivated strong leadership and communication skills through this role and learnt to balance my responsibilities alongside a demanding academic workload. This honed my ability to multitask and prioritize effectively. Furthermore, I have had the privilege of interning at Tom Dixon’s Research Design Studio as a Junior Designer, and at Totally Covered and Co’s upholstery firm. These provided me with hands-on experience and an insight into industry practices, helping me leverage my proficiency in certain software’s such as CAD, Photoshop Indesign and Rhino. As I embark on the next phase of my journey, I am seeking a dynamic and challenging role where I can leverage my academic background, coupled with my practical experiences, to contribute meaningfully to innovative and sustainable design projects. I aspire to continuously grow and evolve within the industry, making significant contributions along the way and becoming a better asset to my employer and myself.
