ABOUT HOLDEN COLVIN

I’m a freshman at Cal Poly exploring a major in accounting and a minor in finance. I’m drawn to both fields because I want to understand not just how businesses run day-to-day, but also how they make strategic financial decisions and build long-term value. In high school, I worked with Snap-on Tools, where I learned firsthand about sales, customer service, and the operational side of business. That experience showed me how critical sound financial management is to sustaining growth — a lesson I’m now pursuing more deeply in college.Outside of academics, I volunteer with the Miracle League, helping kids and adults with disabilities play baseball. That work has grounded me in the idea that leadership is about more than numbers; it’s about creating stability and opportunities for others.At Cal Poly, I’m focused on building a strong foundation in both accounting and finance while staying open to entrepreneurial opportunities. I want to challenge myself with internships, projects, and connections that will prepare me to analyze businesses not only from a financial lens but also from a broader strategic perspective.
