ABOUT GRACE HODGES

As an ecologist, l love learning about how our natural systems and structures connect with each other. Currently working as a wildland firefighter, I explore the impacts of prescribed fire and wildfires upon the environments in which they occur; I’m aiming to better understand what improvements we can make in land management techniques, human contact with the natural world, and maintaining balances of conservation and preservation approaches. Not only do I have great experience in field work, but I’m also quite experienced in analysis, report writing, and data management. As a recent graduate of Temple University, I hold a B.S. in Ecology, Evolution, and Biodiversity, with distinction in Major. My most recent project with the Nature Conservancy consisted of analyses of datasets regarding controlled burns, environmental factors, and invasive species. My skills in R and ArcGIS, combined with a solid foundation in field techniques and research, drive my passion for advancing our understanding of ecological dynamics and conservation strategies.
