Former cabinet member in Governor Bill Lee’s administration - served as Commissioner, Tennessee Department of Commerce & Insurance. Led a department of 800 employees, a yearly budget of $230 million and 7 diverse divisions within the department - Insurance, Regulatory Boards, State Fire Marshal’s Office, Securities, TennCare Oversight, Emergency Communications Board & TN Law Enforcement Training Academy. Helped spearhead several initiatives including tornado response, COVID-19 response, served on the governor’s COVID-19 Economic Recovery Group and chaired the governor’s Law Enforcement Reform Taskforce.Additionally, experienced executive in government relations, economic development and community relations. Skilled in Business Strategy & Growth, Operations and Management and Nonprofit organizations. Strong community and social services professional with a Political Science focused in Government and International Relations from Middle Tennessee State University and the University of Eastern Africa.
