ABOUT HODA JALALEDINY
Hello, everyone!I am a fourth-year undergraduate student at Pacific Lutheran University, majoring in accounting and minoring in data science. My work experience includes my current internship at the Washington State Auditor\'s Office, where I work to increase accountability and transparency of local governments\' reporting procedures and activities. I have been exposed to various types of audits through my role, including accountability, financial, and federal grant single audits. Further, my previous work experience includes my research role at Pacific Lutheran University, where I worked to deploy a stock price prediction model based on sentiment analysis on news data and historical stock price data, along with three other students. This experience allowed me to improve my data science, machine learning, and research skills. For example, I developed skills in literature review, writing a paper, and presenting my research during major conferences in various ways, including oral presentations and posters. Some of my other work experience includes my role at Checkbook, a startup in California, wherein I conducted financial data analysis using Xero accounting software, Microsoft Excel, and Google Sheets. I also completed several administrative tasks outside of accounting, such as creating social media posts for the company, which enriched my experience by exposing me to various functions outside of my field. My experience as an accounting consultant at Alefba Group, a nonprofit cultural organization in Seattle, was very valuable as well, as I worked with QuickBooks accounting software often and received training through Udemy regarding this software. Further, I was exposed to account and bank reconciliations and learned a great deal about nonprofit accounting. Finally, I am passionate about healthcare and access to it and was the President of my school\'s Chapter of the MEDLIFE Movement (an organization all about providing healthcare, education, and development resources to low-income communities everywhere) until December 2025.
