At Huge, I am working as a Senior Software Engineer on the OLI project — that’s the AI-powered Olympic chatbot we built for NBC Sports 🤖. It was such a cool experience! We launched it just in time for Paris 2024, and it ended up handling over 1 million queries during the Games. We even picked up an AI Breakthrough Award for it! I was mainly focused on building the React/TypeScript chat widget — used Redux, Tailwind, and Styled Components to make it super responsive and fast. It ran across five different NBC platforms, so we had to make it snappy and clean — think sub-second replies and smooth UX.I also helped deliver this interactive event calendar — built with React, Node, and GraphQL — where users could set reminders with one click. That alone got over 50K downloads during the event.One part I’m really proud of was the real-time personalization I worked on. I used Next.js, REST APIs, and ElasticSearch to tailor recommendations based on time, location, and user behavior — and that boosted engagement by 20%! On the backend side, I helped scale our services with Go, Django, Node, Redis — all deployed on AWS with some GCP and Terraform. During peak moments, we were handling hundreds of thousands of schedule lookups a day — and the system stayed rock solid For the AI side, I worked on tuning Gemini LLM responses using LangChain and Hugging Face — with custom prompts and validation — and that bumped our accuracy by 30%. It was super satisfying to see the chatbot get smarter day by day 🧠And to make sure everything stayed stable, I pitched in with QA — using Jest, Cypress, Selenium, and stress-tested with Locust. We hit 200K+ concurrent users and didn’t break a sweat. The vibe during the Opening Ceremony launch was — cross-team collab with NBC, Google AI, PMs, designers… just pure team magic.
