About Hnin Johnson

I am a highly skilled lifelong learner and experienced professional with a diverse educational background. I was born in Burma/Myanmar and later lived in Singapore, where I worked in the semiconductor industry before switching careers. During the Great Recession, I moved to the United States to pursue the American Dream and to better support myself and my aging parents. I now hold dual Master\'s degrees from the University of Washington in Seattle, one in Public Administration with a concentration in Analysis and Evaluation and the other in Social Work with a concentration in Community-Centered Integrative Practice. I have significant experience in various fields, including project management, policy analysis, program evaluation, hospitality, semiconductor technology, nonprofit management, and digital content creation. I initially believed that only a higher-up job position or status could positively impact the world. However, the COVID-19 pandemic and my meditation practice have changed my beliefs. Now, I see that making small contributions can and will lead to more significant positive impacts in the universe. With that understanding, I now work remotely as a Project Manager and an Administrative Assistant for two small minority women-led Seattle-based startups, namely CuriosityBased and Be Possible. I am happily married to an Ohio-born public school teacher whom I met on the aloha-filled island of Oahu. I volunteer, bake, and practice Samantha-Vipassana meditation in my free time.
