ABOUT KIAN KIANMEHR
Kian received his PhD in Electrical Engineering from the University of Waterloo, Ontario, Canada, in 2024. He earned his BSc and MSc in Electrical Engineering from Shahid Beheshti University (SBU), Tehran, Iran, in 2012 and 2015, respectively. His BSc thesis focused on optimization algorithms for communication systems, while his MSc research involved the synthesis and analysis of shaped beam antennas. He then worked for three years in industry as an R&D engineer, designing RF and microwave components including power amplifiers, filters, antennas, and receivers. He later joined the Centre for Integrated RF Engineering (CIRFE) at the University of Waterloo, where his research focused on chip-scale tunable RF devices using liquid crystal technology and microfabrication techniques. After completing his PhD, he joined Skyworks Solutions in Ottawa, Canada.
