    Optimized backing material and thickness to increase power transfer into the load and stabilize thickness-mode resonance vs. temperature, using coupled-field FEA (Ansys) and LDV/impedance characterization to close the model–measurement loop- Implemented a lumped element model for a whole transducer stack + coupling layer in Python and using FEM data, and LDV measured data- Implemented a BVD-based stack model in Python and fit R_m,L_m,C_m,C_0 to Bode 100 data; applied the model to synthesize matching circuits and lower VSWR at the operating band- Developed “SonicPath” (GPU transient solver) for single-element stacks; validated against LDV velocity fields and impedance spectra- Low-T characterization: measured impedance from ambient to very low temperatures, extracted temperature-dependent piezo parameters (Q_m) and updated FEM models based on this study- Estimated effective moving mass (m_eff) from LDV surface-velocity fields and used it to parameterize the lumped model of the transducer- Characterized couplant/gel (Z_eff, loss/damping) via LDV-informed lumped-element modeling, then optimized layer choice to boost forward power and shorten decay- Studied the effect of input electric power on the degradation of mechanical quality factor of the piezo element, using Laser vibrometer time domain data, and Python programming- Initiated a feasibility study of metasurfaces matching layers for high impedance contrast; performed preliminary modeling and literature review and outlined initial fabrication constraints- Modal & transient FEA (Ansys, coupled-field): quantified mode shapes, pre-stress, and drive-limited stress hotspots for single and 4-element stacks- Reconstructed 2-D stress fields in load by integrating LDV time signals with k-Wave (Python) to evaluate beamforming strategies and wafer power delivery patterns.
