About Hiya Desai

I’m a freshman at the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University pursuing a degree in Finance, motivated to create meaningful impact within the communities I am part of. I enjoy using numbers and analysis to help people make better decisions, support mission-driven work, and contribute to teams that care about their communities.As a Finance & Tax Intern at Abhijit Ray CPA, I assisted former Big Four consultants with tax analysis and audit processes for client accounts, prepared and reviewed tax documents with 100% accuracy, and organized financial data from more than 200 client records to support audits and inform better decisions.Beyond the classroom and office, my roles with Summit Impact Trust and GiGi’s Playhouse Houston have shown me how strong analytical and communication skills can directly support people and communities. Looking ahead, I’m excited to continue developing my technical finance skills, take on more responsibility in team-based environments, and pursue opportunities where I can combine financial analysis with meaningful, community-focused impact.
