Interventional pulmonologist and physician leader at UAB. President, AIPPD. Director, UAB Interventional Pulmonology and Pleural Disease Program. I direct the Interventional Pulmonology and Pleural Disease Program and co-chair the Thoracic Cancer Management Team at the O’Neal Comprehensive Cancer Center. I serve as President of the Association of Interventional Pulmonology Program Directors and as Associate Program Director of the UAB IP Fellowship. Clinically, my focus is early lung cancer diagnosis and treatment, malignant pleural effusions, and central airway obstruction. I build programs, mentor fellows and junior faculty, and convene national education. I invest in leadership development, including executive coaching focused on strategy, team effectiveness, negotiation, and conflict management. I use tools like 360 feedback, DISC, TKI, and Working Genius to translate insight into better teams and programs. Recent work includes leading the AIPPD Fellows’ Career Development Symposium and delivering “Differences Make the Difference: People Literacy in Practice,” a hands-on session using behaviors and motivators to improve self-awareness and team decisions. Speaking invitations and senior leadership conversations are welcome.
