In my work, I pay close attention to the story and design my edit according to the response I desire from the audience. In the course of my career, I have worked with several talented producers and have tried my best to achieve and add to their vision. Good editing I feel, is about taking small risks with sequences. I try to avoid cliches and will typically design several sequences before I decide on the one that I am happy with. While my instincts are to break editing stereotypes, if a straight-jacket edit is the need of the hour, I deliver that as well. The range of stories I have edited is sizeable as I started with producing short news videos, then moved to light-hearted features and finally to serious short documentary.
