   In this role, I started by training team members and team leaders on 5S+1 standards and the 8 wastes in a manufacturing facility that supports the defense programs of multiple nations. After training team members and team leaders, I created a 5S+1 checklist to maintain 5S+1 standards in our facility to develop a more organized work environment that ensures the minimization of missing consumables and tools. I audit 32 work areas on a monthly basis to make sure 5S+1 work standards are being sustained. I also facilitate Kaizen events with cross-functional teams where we utilize value stream mapping and the DMAIC and DMADV framework to identify waste and to reduce and eliminate non-value-added steps in a process. These Kaizen events have included our sales order process and our inventory inspection process. The result has been a reduction in the number of approvals needed to proceed in the sales process, a reduction in the number of inspections needed in the inspection process, and the utilization of a line of balance to monitor the results and sustain changes occurring post-Kaizen event. The non-value-added time for these processes has been reduced which has shortened the lead time for these processes by a combined average of 50%. I am one of the main points of contact in coordinating and facilitating improvement projects.
