Marco Hinojosa is an urban planner at MIG and is dedicated to empowering people to take part in planning and placemaking through inclusive engagement and education. Marco grew up in Texas, but trips to Mexico revealed what cities could be—with vibrant cultural and essential resources and destinations within mixed-use neighborhoods. His experience in both the public and private sector offers a nuanced understanding of a range of issues associated with making cities better for everyone. He applies his professional and personal experiences to projects across the country including comprehensive plans, park plans, and streetscape designs. He is active in the American Planning Association, serving as Vice-Chair for the Latinos and Planning Division and is the current secretary of the Texas Chapter.
