Involved from the requirement definition phase through to detailed model development and validation.Responsible for building physics-based battery models, conducting cell testing, and delivering validated data for performance, thermal, safety, and lifepredictions in an aerospace-grade development process• Led the battery modeling for NASA\'s EPFD, from cell selection and test profile design to data collection, model building, and validation programusing data from multiple suppliers and chemistries, ensuring compliance standards.• Contributed to NASA EPFD program milestones, including SRR, PDR, and integration reviews with cross-functional engineering teams.• Performed cell testing aligned with DO-311A, ISO-12405-4, UL1973, and APR7131 to extract thermal, electrical, and electrochemical parameters• Conducted thermal testing on battery cells, including heat generation analysis, ARC test, and cooling performance evaluation.• Enhanced thermal control by optimizing heat sinks and thermal interface materials• Reduced parameter estimation time by 98% using curve fitting, least squares, and Simulink Design Optimization while also improving modelaccuracy.• Modeled full battery systems, including packs, BMS, PDU, and chargers using MATLAB Simulink, Simscape, Stateflow, Ansys, and Python.• Maintained accuracy of simulation with error under 11mV and 2°C using iterative tuning and real-world validation.• Mentored and supervised interns in battery testing and simulation; created and managed project timelines to track their progress.• Led cell supplier analysis and developed and built an in-house cell testing lab.• Managed battery issue resolution using structured failure analysis and containment planning.
