I am currently serving as an Advisor with Ernst & Young, supporting strategic initiatives for Electric Utilities like Saudi Electricity Company in Riyadh. With over five decades of experience in the power and utilities sector, I have held leadership positions in India’s foremost utilities, including Tata Power, Torrent Power, and Reliance Energy.An alumnus of IIT Kharagpur (Mechanical Engineering) and XLRI Jamshedpur (MBA), I completed my Doctorate in Business Administration from the Swiss School of Business and Management (SSBM), Geneva. My doctoral research focused on strategy dynamics and digital transformation in electric utilities, with emphasis on system dynamics modeling for executive decision-making.My core specialization lies in budgeting and budgetary control for ageing infrastructure, particularly in power generation. I integrate boardroom-level strategy with operational execution to enhance reliability, cost control, and regulatory compliance. I have led consulting engagements covering asset integrity, outage optimization, predictive maintenance, and AI integration in O&M systems.As former CEO of Reliance Energy and BRPL/BYPL in Delhi, I spearheaded modernization of network operations, reduction of AT & C losses, and world-class customer processes. As Executive Director of Operations at Torrent Power, I oversaw generation, transmission, and distribution. As Managing Director of EcoUrja Solar (Grupo ACS, Spain), I led development of 200 MW solar PV and thermal projects.I’ve advised over 100 Fortune 500 clients as a Gerson Lehrman Group expert, consistently ranked in the top 3% worldwide on natural resource consulting. I also served as CEO and EPC Project Director at Reliance, where I led large-scale thermal power and grid projects.A recognized capability-builder, I’ve trained managers globally in problem-solving and decision analysis as a Kepner-Tregoe certified expert. I am also a founding board member of the International School of Project Management (ISPM), collaborating with institutions such as ESC Lille, Cranfield, GWU, and IMD Lausanne.An independent researcher, I focus on digital disruption and strategic resilience in utility infrastructure across power, telecom, transportation, and R&D sectors.
