ABOUT HIMADRI SEKHAR SARKAR

I am a postdoctoral researcher with over 12 years of experience in synthetic organic chemistry, molecular recognition, chemical biology, medicinal chemistry, photopharmacology, molecular biology techniques, small molecule–protein engineering, molecular modeling, DFT analysis, biophysical assays, targeted protein degradation (TPD), PROTACs, in vitro cellular assays, in vivo PK/PD, and drug discovery. At CSIR–Indian Institute of Chemical Biology, my work centers on developing innovative therapeutic strategies and using advanced chemical tools to answer complex biological questions. My research involves the rational design and multistep synthesis of novel chemical entities to unravel molecular mechanisms and identify potential treatments for human diseases. I also focus on the design and synthesis of next-generation chimeric molecules (PROTACs) for the targeted degradation of disease-causing proteins.I aim to contribute to collaborative drug discovery efforts that advance our understanding of disease biology and lead to the development of transformative therapeutic interventions.
