Hilton Thompson (she/her) is an Atlanta native, community builder, and founder of Folks Events, where she’s led the planning and execution of over events over the last decade. From corporate gatherings to morale-boosting experiences to the occasional wedding, Hilton has a gift for crafting intentional, memorable events that bring people together—and she’s been doing it long before she made it official with Folks.Hilton is also the organizer of the monthly Women + Tech Meetup in partnership with Atlanta Tech Village, which she launched back in 2018 while serving as Head of Events & Marketing at ATV. A longtime supporter of the startup ecosystem, she’s played the role of both ecosystem partner and early startup employee (at Zinnia), giving her a unique understanding of how to support founders, teams, and growing communities.Relational at heart, Hilton is passionate about creating spaces where people feel seen and supported—especially women. She volunteers with The Period Project, mentors with the Girl Scouts of Atlanta’s Camp CEO, and currently serves as President of Georgia Women’s Fly Fishers, helping more women get on the water and into the sport.She lives north of Atlanta with her husband and a small pack of beloved pets. When she’s not running events or organizing something new, you’ll probably find her fly fishing, painting, reading, or digging in the garden.
