ABOUT HILLARY BUCHAN-TERRELL

I have demonstrated good judgment and political acuity working within the political sphere on policy, communications and messaging, and providing strategic advice in sensitive, fast-paced and constantly evolving environments. I am regularly sought for leadership roles for my enthusiasm, professionalism and process-driven approach. I am all about building collaborative relationships and multi-faceted, team approaches to problem-solving amongst key players, both internal and external. I have the tact and ability to successfully coordinate projects among multiple stakeholders and competing priorities and to effectively lead and coordinate logistics for small- and large-scale events alike. I have a knack for delivering complex subjects into easily digestible, audience-appropriate communications. I am, at heart, a passionate person who is enthusiastic about engaging in the public policy arena, particularly with issues that touch science such as climate change, sustainability and sustainable development, urban progress, civic engagement, water resources, energy and pollution, wildlife conservation, and transportation. I want to work to bridge the gap between science (knowledge) and policy through advocacy, outreach and communications roles using data-driven, evidence-based ideas and solutions. I am interested in stakeholder engagement/business development, CSR, and public affairs roles in the tech start-up world, government, associations, research and innovation hubs, and private industry in the smart/open/intelligent cities and sustainability sectors.
