Yo-Yo Ma conceived Silkroad in 1998 as a reminder that even as rapid globalization resulted in division, it brought extraordinary possibilities for working together.As Artist Program Manager, my duties lie in two major areas: Manage all aspects of artistic program execution, ensuring alignment with Silkroad’s mission and vision, including:Oversee the feasibility, budgeting, and execution of artistic projects, working closely with the Artistic Director to ensure strategic, financial, and logistical success.Coordinate all logistical elements of performances and tours, including artist and crew coordination, travel arrangements, venue management, and technical needs.Manage contracts, payments, and all administrative tasks related to artists, crew, and independent contractors.Develop and maintain project briefs, program notes, and media assets, ensuring consistency across all internal and external materials.Serve as the primary on-site liaison for performance-related activities, resolving issues and ensuring smooth execution.Collaborate across teams to track program activity, contribute to fundraising, and support marketing efforts:Compile quarterly and annual program reports, tracking benchmarks and impact data.Assist in fundraising and partnership development, including drafting project narratives and reports.Contribute to marketing, social media, and board-level artistic programming initiatives.Organize internal data, maintain shared drive systems, and support team-wide initiatives.
