ABOUT JOHN GALVIN

I partner with senior leaders and leadership teams to see themselves clearly, make courageous choices, and take the steps required to lead at the next level with conviction, impact, and integrity.I do my best work when the stakes are real.I work best with CEOs, C-suite leaders, and senior executives who are already performing at a high level and are at a genuine inflection point—expanded scope, succession pressure, enterprise visibility, or the realization that execution alone is no longer sufficient. My clients value candor over comfort, are willing to examine their own patterns, and are prepared to make the personal and leadership shifts required to operate with greater authority, influence, and strategic presence.I bring more than 30 years of experience as a strategist, executive coach, and senior operating leader. Before focusing full-time on coaching, I spent 22 years at Intel in senior leadership roles, most recently as Vice President and General Manager of the Education and Public Sector business. During that time, I led global teams and initiatives, built new businesses, managed P & Ls, developed strategic partnerships, and contributed to enterprise-level strategy discussions. I know firsthand what it takes to grow a business, navigate complexity, and deliver results in demanding environments. My operating background also includes board service and running an ed-tech accelerator in partnership with Intel Capital. I bring deep marketing experience—including channel strategy, market research, and partner marketing—which informs my work with leaders balancing growth, scale, and organizational health.Since leaving corporate leadership, I have focused exclusively on executive coaching, team development, and coach supervision. I work with senior leaders and leadership teams at Fortune 100 companies, as well as later-stage and high-growth organizations across industries. I also supervise experienced coaches, supporting their development in presence, judgment, and working effectively with senior leaders. My coaching style is direct, relational, and grounded in real-world leadership. I am known for being insightful and observant—even when the conversation is uncomfortable—and for surfacing patterns that matter. Clients and fellow coaches describe my approach as a blend of warmth and courage: supportive, challenging, and deeply human.I am on the faculty of the Hudson Institute of Coaching and a certified coach supervisor. I divide my time between Santa Barbara and the Lake Tahoe area with my wife Deborah and our Australian Shepherd.
